ABOUT A BLOCKED EAR

Blocked ear solutions abound on the internet. If they did not work for you then you are in the right place.

Have you poured Debrox, Wax remover, tea tree oill, garlic oil, witch hazel, alcohol or peroxide, in you ear?
Have you blown on your blocked ear with a blow dryer?
--- What about taking a steaming hot shower to relieve your painful ear blockage?
And have you tried purging your blocked ear with a saline solution and a syringe?
-- Ear candles? (I hope not, they are a scam)

These are the things the internet will tell you to try to cure your clogged ear. But they will not likely work if it is your inner ear or middle ear that is clogged with fluid. Your ear drum will prevent anything form entering past it to the deep parts of the ear, or Eustachian tube, where fluid gets stuck. When fluid is stuck in a blocked ear you may feel sloshing in the clogged ear, hear popping sounds, or have reduced ability to hear well, it may sound like you are under water. You may feel pain or discomfort in the ear or neck.

This fluid can come from an ear infection (current or past), allergies and sinus congestion or cold or flu, smoking, if you flew in a plane recently, having small or narrow eustachian tubes, and some other reasons....not nearly as common as the afore mentioned ones.

Has your ENT or Dr. told you that you need to undergo a minor operation in order for this condition to clear up?
Blocked ears are often fixed by a Dr. using Ear Tubes inserted by an in office procedure, or by piercing the ear drum and letting the fluid drain from the blocked ear that way. Dr.s will tell you "just take a decongestant to clear blocked ears" but that usually does not help.

Do not waste your time, money and sanity on all these silly remedies for a blocked ear.
